FREE Report About The New FTC Rules

By Carl Kmetz On November 26, 2009 Under Marketing News

The FTC is really ramping up on cracking down on Internet Marketers beginning on December 1st.2009, and actively go after those that do NOT comply to all their NEW rules.

Okay, sorry to scare you but here’s what is going on, at least what I’ve been hearing anyway.

If you haven’t heard already, the FTC (Federal Trades Commission) recently released their NEW updated Guidelines Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials, in Advertising which includes Product Owners,  Bloggers and Affiliate Marketers and it is causing quite a stir amongst the Internet Marketing community.  For about a month and 1/2 now since I first heard about these new rules I’ve noticed a few Internet marketers using the old “scare tactic” making us marketers think that we are all doomed and the day’s of our Internet businesses are numbered.

So I figured I’d write this blog post on what I have heard on the net.

I think these New FTC Rules are not so bad after all. We as Internet marketers just have to abide by the rules which means using the proper documentation on our sites such as Terms Of Service, Disclaimer, and one I’ve never heard of before, a “Testimonial Disclaimer” if you have any testimonials on your site.

If you have given a product to your marketing buddies for free in exchange for a testimonial then you should be concerned. I think you also should be concerned if you have purchased a PLR (Private Label Rights) product that came with testimonials already on the sales page.

Review sites I believe are in danger whether you bought the resell rights or created it yourself. The problem I see is that most of them are miss leading the consumer and making them think the company or site owner has done some kind of investigative work or rigorous testing on the products or services. Unless you can show proof that you own and tested all the products you’re reviewing yourself. If not, then in my opinion you are miss leading the public. I also heard a few month back that Google is going to Ban These style of sites from their Google AdSense adverting program and may ban some advertisers for good. Do you think they saw this coming? I think so.

I believe the NEW FTC rules is going to make the Internet a better place for all of us.

Len Thurmond Creator and Owner of “AutoWebLaw Pro” just came out with a new free report on the subject and he says…

“Their purpose seems to be one of trying to protect the public from the many scams and misleading advertising practices that are all over the Internet Advertising Industry today. And if they can pull it off in the manner they are hoping for, it WILL clean up the Internet quite a bit and get rid of a LOT of Scams and Snake Oil Salesmen. However, the structuring of these new updated regulations are ambiguous at best, and so vague in part, as to leave it open totally to interpretation…NOT hard and fast rules. And unfortunately, as usual, it is solely the FTC’s interpretation that decides the validity of any and all cases they decide to prosecute. ”

And he go’s on saying,

“The protection you gain from placing the proper legal documentation on ALL of your websites and products, will not only protect you from the frivolous Law Suits (that are running rampant in today’s world), but also from Government intervention…Intervention that can shut you down in a heartbeat, freeze all your assets and cost you tens, to hundreds of thousands of dollars in Fines and legal fees!”

As an affiliate of Len Thurmond’s AutoWebLaw Pro software he’s allowed me to give you his report for free.
